This swivel anchor point by RUD has been approved for underwater use and suitable for marine applications.
With DNV certification and 720 hours of salt spray testing for resistance the Turnado Oceanstar will be a great addition for many underwater lifting, loading and tie down operations. See the manual above for full details of how and where it can be used.
For maximum corrosion resistance this sub sea anchor point has a zinc flake coating, therefore it will also be perfect for use in other areas such as dockside, ports and on sea faring vessels, in fact any marine or offshore applications would benefit from the RUD Oceanstar.
The threaded shank on the Oceanstar is captive although it can be removed to replace if necessary, but only with the stipulated replacement type.
The ACP subsea lifting point has a permissible loading range in the ring plane, if you try to lift beyond this point a spring will automatically return it into the permitted zone – a great safety feature.
If you need a longer shank length then the Turnado Oceanstar Vario model (coming soon) offers variable length shanks up to 271mm, against 41.5mm for the standard (model depending). Details in the documentation.
There are many do's and dont's to be followed when using this swivel lifting point, many are common sense like inspecting before use to ensure there are no issues; Ensuring it is tightly screwed in to the correct torque and remains so. There are a number of more technical elements to consider such as safe temperatures, tightening torque and more; please refer to the manual above where you will find all the details and full specifications.
The ACP Turnado Oceanstar swivel lifting point comes in a range of sizes from M8 to M30. They come with the shorter threads as standard but are also available in a long shank version (vario). This is the only swivel eye bolt that can be used subsea, however we do have a great range of swivel eyebolts for general use.
